When editing a profile the avatar field and the canvas field (assuming this is the same for all image fields) give the drop-down options:

No change of image file
Upload new image file
Remove image file

… Suggest to remove the word file from option names as redundant and confusing. This way things read better (shorter) and also use case is clearer for removal when someone has selected a gallery image (in this case the image file is not actually removed)
